According to the East Bay Times, Apple spent a pretty penny when building the structures in their new Apple Park campus. The Cupertino-based tech giant spent a total of $1.1 billion on the new campus and $427 million of that went to the “spaceship” building right in the middle of it.

The main, ring-shaped building cost $231.9 million for the primary structure, $85 million for landscaping and irrigation, and $25.8 million for the entrance tunnel that connects the parking structures to North Wolfe Road. The photovoltaic roof also cost $15 million and allows the campus to run on 100 percent renewable energy. The two outdoor dining facilities clocked in at $8.9 million.

Apple also spent $161 million on the new state-of-the-art Steve Jobs Theater. The theater includes a retractable wall that can reveal new products during events.

The campus cost four times more than Facebook’s counterpart in Menlo Park. That project cost $269 million and was completed in 2015.

Apple sees it all as money well spent. Another group who agrees would be home sellers close by as their property values has skyrocketed in recent months.
