Potomac Shores, a master-planned community 30 miles south of Washington D.C., now includes some big names in its home-builder lineup. Developer SunCal announced in a press release that builders Brookfield Residential and Pulte Homes have been tapped to add more home offering to the community’s various neighborhoods.

Brookfield Residential will eventually add 161 single-family homes to The Woods section of Potomac Shores. Pulte Homes will soon build 231 townhomes in The Fairways section, marking the first townhome offerings in the area. The subdivision gets its name from the nearby 18-hole Potomac Shores Golf Club.

The original builders, NVHomes and Ryan Homes, have sold more than 400 homes and sold out three neighborhoods in Potomac Shores.

The rugged, idyllic development along the Potomac River encompasses 1,920 acres and incorporates 1,000 acres of preserved hardwood forests and streams. Built for the D.C. commuter, the development is near a new Virginia Railway Express station. It also includes two public schools, multiple sports fields, 10 miles of trails, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, and a private recreation and fitness complex.
