Home construction company CalAtlantic Homes has been making its mark throughout Southern California, especially with its recent acquisition of 856 lots in Fontana. Irvine-based consulting firm Land Advisors Organization helped facilitate the massive transaction.

The site, sandwiched between Sierra and Citrus avenues, has already been approved for the development of an estimated total of 347 townhomes, 190 garden terraces, and 319 single-family detached small lot homes. It is only a piece of the larger 180-acre master plan, called the Summit at Rosena Specific Plan, meant to bring 856 dwelling units of various sizes and types, a mixed-use activity center, and an elementary school to the area.

CalAtlantic will oversee much of the development, including construction of the new homes, a recreational center, a park, and open community space.

The mixture of home styles in the residential project is an intentional plan from the city to address public concerns over a lack of variety in home projects in Fontana. The Summit at Rosena Specific Plan will provide an amenity-filled master plan for residents looking to purchase a high-quality home. The new development will also offer homeowners easy access to pedestrian and cycling trails, workout areas, landscaped areas, and parking.

Home prices have not been disclosed but other CalAtlantic models in the nearby Stonehaven collection begin in the mid $500,000s.
