What’s better than cruising on a boat on a sunny day? How about being on a boat with your dad while drinking beer or champagne on Father’s Day? If you’re celebrating Father’s Day in Marina Del Rey, set sail on one of Hornblower’s Father’s Day cruises. You’ll have two cruise options to choose from, including a Beer Brunch Cruise that departs at 11 a.m. or the Beer Afternoon Buffet Cruise that departs at 4 p.m. Each includes a two-hour yacht cruise, brunch buffet, free-flowing house beer and champagne, complimentary soft drinks, live entertainment, and a take-home souvenir pilsner glass. Enjoy a meal with dad while sipping on an ice-cold brew as you cruise along the scenic coast.

If your father is an urban warrior, or maybe just enjoys the backdrop and sounds of the city, head over to the Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles for the beer and food truck scene. Here, you’ll find Angel City Brewery & Public House, which is hosting a Father’s Day Food Truck and Music Fest on Tuesday, June 19. The food lineup features Tomski Sausage, Brewwings, and The Surfer Taco, while the music lineup includes The Bloodhounds, Calvin Winbush, and LITTLE GIRLS. The event starts at noon, and it’s kid-friendly—as long as a parent or guardian is present during the fest before 8 p.m. The brewery also has board games available inside, so you can challenge your dad to a friendly competition.

If you really want to impress your dad, you can spend the day in DTLA enjoying the LA Beer Week Kickoff Festival 2018 on Saturday, June 16 from noon to 4 p.m. The 10th Annual LA Beer Week Kickoff Festival will be held at the Los Angeles Center Studios in the heart of downtown. The festival lineup includes 90 independent craft breweries, live music, games, local food, Hollywood Curlin, and a photo booth to snap those memorable moments with dad. VIP tickets are $70 per person and include a keepsake beer glass, early entry, and access to the fest’s new VIP lounge area.

Give your dad a break from his grilling duties and treat him to a BBQ brunch at Eagle Rock Brewery Public House in the Eagle Rock neighborhood. The brewery will be hosting a Father’s Day BBQ Brunch on Sunday, June 17 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a special BBQ brunch menu as well as BBQ platters for dinner, while supplies last. Also, Eagle Rock Brewery Public House is one of the few spots in this neighborhood to drink locally brewed beers and enjoy some good Southern-style BBQ.

If your dad enjoys spending time outdoors among nature, you might want to head to Palos Verdes. Often called the “edge of the world,” this lush spot along the coast houses the South Coast Botanic Garden. This botanical garden offers 87 acres of blooming trees, shrubs, and flowers year-round. Not only will you enjoy natural beauty as you walk through the botanical gardens, but you can also treat your dad to the Dad’s Day Out Celebration on Sunday, June 17 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. This special event is held at the botanical garden where you and your dad can hike the trails, play a game of cornhole, design a memory box, create burnt wood art, and relax at the craft beer station. Dads get one complimentary beer from Smog City Brewing, and beers on tap include Smog City IPA, Coffee Porter, Little Bo Pils, and Bluet. Drinks are also available for purchase and proceeds support the South Coast Botanic Garden.
