Westlake may be a quiet, semi-rural town, but the number of financial services companies locating in the area is really putting the town on the map. The latest facility to come to Westlake is the California-based Charles Schwab financial services firm. According to a recent story in the Dallas Morning News, the new Charles Schwab location in Westlake is currently under construction, with plans to accommodate 2,600 workers when it opens in 2019.

The project is on 700 acres at Texas Highway 114. Although construction began in July, the company recently held a ceremony to mark the official kick-off of the project.

The $100 million regional campus is a part of developer Hillwood’s Circle T Ranch. Designed by Dallas architect Corgan, the 500,000-square-foot facility will include two office buildings, a training center and meeting space, an amenities building with a cafe, and a parking garage.

"Texas is an important part of the Schwab family, and we're glad to put another stake in the ground here," founder Charles Schwab said in the Dallas Morning News. "We're very optimistic about where we're headed as a company and our future here in Texas."

Schwab has already maintained a presence in Westlake, operating out of a temporary office space with more than 350 employees.

The state of Texas gave Schwab a $6 million enterprise grant to pay for the new campus.
