Homegrown distillery Koval has been leasing space in a building in Chicago's Ravenswood neighborhood, and good news for boozers—the Chicago Tribune reports company is buying that building and plans to expand.

The distillery, the first in Chicago post-prohibition, plans to take over the entire building and quadruple from 11,000 square feet to 45,000. With the expansion, the distillery plans to increase production and will probably add a tasting room.

Koval, which brews whiskey, flavored liqueurs, and spirits, will consolidate its two plants "within the next few years" at 4241 N. Ravenswood Ave. According to the Tribune article, the owners seriously considered properties in Pilsen and Bridgeport before deciding to expand in Ravenswood's industrial corridor.
