Logan Square is, judging from the number of craft cocktail bars alone, probably one of Chicago’s hippest neighborhoods, and every hip neighborhood needs a food co-op. Its resident co-op, Dill Pickle, currently has a tiny location in the neighborhood, but it’s upgrading with a “huge” new location that’s opening in August. DNA Info reports the final phase of construction began mid-April.

The $3.5 million project was announced back in 2015, but it’s faced a few delays since then. Recently, the co-op scored a clutch loan from the Chicago Community Loan Fund that allowed the last leg of construction to begin. Most of the rest of the funds are from co-op members.

The 10,000-square-foot location—much bigger than the 1,300-square-foot current location—will go up right by the L Spaulding stop on the Blue Line. The new location will also include a deli, beer and wine section and a community room.
