Jay Bennett was part of Chicago band Wilco’s frequently-changing lineup, but he split from the group in 2001 and died suddenly in 2009. In 2001, he opened Pieholden Suite Sound, a recording studio at the site of a former punk venuein Ukrainian Village. Now the one-story building at 2116 W. Chicago Avenue will be demolished to make way for luxury condos. 

DNAInfo reports says Mykhaylo "Michael" Volochiy of Volo Development plans to build a four-story brick and aluminum-paneled building with four luxury condos and first-floor office space. The architect for the project is John Hanna. 

Prices for the three-bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom units will run between $649,000 and $719,000. Pre-sales should begin this month.

While the median sale price in Ukrainian Village is roughly $441,450 at the moment, the neighborhood has been heating up over the last few years with contemporary condo developments.
