Dallas-Fort Worth interior designer Donna Moss — who starred in HGTV’s “Donna Decorates Dallas” — is no stranger to transforming big houses into exquisitely-designed showplaces. Nor is she a stranger to the heartbreak of Alzheimer’s Disease.

"My husband's mother Clara is fighting this terrible disease right now, and we have watched in horror as this takes her beautiful spirit and crushes everything in its path," Moss said in a Guide Live story.

In July 2016, Moss joined forces with Traditional Home magazine and an army of professionals to begin building a chic 7,938 square-foot mansion on a 1.5-acre estate in Southlake. With a price tag of $32 million, the purpose of the project is to raise awareness and major funds for the Alzheimer’s Association.

Moss led the creative team, which consisted of Meg Caswell and Lonni Paul, cast members of HGTV’s “Design Star,” along with a 24-member design crew. Moss’ husband Paul Moss, who owns Marina Bay Development Corporation, headed up construction.

In addition to a sparkling pool, three courtyards and his-and-her two-car garages, the sweeping home will contain a spacious master suite, guest suite, and three more bedrooms.

Moss will showcase the finished mansion at a $175-a-ticket gala on September 23. For $35 a ticket, the public can tour the mansion from September 24 to October 22. (Find tour hours and other information here.)

According to Moss, the Alzheimer’s Association of North Central Texas will receive at least 3 percent of mansion’s sale price as well as a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales and a pop-up version of her retail store, That’s Haute, which will be open during the gala event and tours.

I just emailed Donna Moss about a photo, and That's Haute texted her.
