The CTA is in the midsts of a $23 million overhaul of the Illinois Medical District Blue Line stop. The stop’s Damen Avenue entrance has just reopened for the first time since February, according to Progressive Railroading

The revamp of the Damen Avenue entrance was designed to improve accessibility, as well as overall aesthetics. The renovations include a new ramp, additional lighting, new flooring, more security cameras, and screens with real-time train arrival times, according to the report.

The CTA’s $23 million investment is the largest overhaul the station has undergone since its 1958 opening, according to the report. The CTA also plans to renovate the Illinois Medical District stop’s Ogden Avenue and Paulina Street entrances.
