With a developer picked for the project, Davie’s downtown area is set to be redeveloped with plans for new restaurants, shops, and entertainment along with a hotel, per CRE-sources.

The town issued a request for proposals to redevelop a 24-acre site that currently includes Davie Town Hall and the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds and recently selected the proposal submit by Aventura-based Azur Equities.

A consulting group hired by the town is negotiating aspects of the deal, including whether the developer should buy or lease some of the land from the town for the project and whether a new Town Hall should be constructed. Although the historic building that houses the council meetings would remain, even with a new Town Hall.

Azur officials have said plans include building a 100,000-square foot restaurant, shopping, and entertainment complex at the northwest corner of Davie Road and Orange Drive and a 140-room condo-hotel and parking garage.

With the revamped downtown, residents could walk between the rodeo grounds, the entertainment complex, and other attractions on wider sidewalks on Davie Road. There would also be open space for Western-themed events.
