There’s a new developer moving into Koreatown. Irvine-based Sang Hoon Chung has filed plans to build an 85-foot tall condominium complex in K-Town under a company called Fred & Jamison LLC.

Chung’s proposed 89-unit condo project would be located at 500 S. Oxford Ave., which sits at the intersection of Oxford Avenue and W. 5th Street. The Irvine-based owner purchased the 0.8-acre area in 2014 for an estimated $8 million. Per The Real Deal, city documents state that Ketter Designs will design the development if it’s approved.

So far, it doesn’t seem that Fred & Jamison has any relation to Jamison Services, a titan among developers in Koreatown, although this has yet to be confirmed. In the past year alone, that super-landlord proposed most of the neighborhood’s recent and upcoming multi-family projects including two 23-story buildings on 3600 Wilshire Blvd. and a 644-unit highrise on 2908 Wilshire Blvd.
