Coworking spaces are popping up in major cities all over the country. Most are flexible places where independent workers and freelancers can go to get some work done. But the vast majority of spaces resemble more casual offices. According to the Dallas Morning News, Downtown Dallas is getting a decidedly more upscale alternative.

Serendipity Labs’ new location is located in the KPMG Plaza building on Ross Avenue in the Arts District. Compared to other coworking spaces in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the new Serendipity Labs coworking space aims to attract a higher caliber of professionals.

Most coworking spaces have a casual atmosphere, with pool tables and dart boards to help stressed-out workers take a break. While these types of coworking spaces can be comfortable places away from home, they often do not project the type of professional image that serious businesses want.

Serendipity’s founder told the Dallas Morning News that the company’s design is intentionally different from other coworking spaces. About 40 percent of their clients are women and about half are established companies.

The facility includes 29,000 square feet between its space in the lobby and on the 17th floor. In addition to having open shared desk space, private offices also have views of Downtown.

The sleek design of the space is designed to convey professionalism while still being comfortable. The general manager of the location is a former manager of the Waldorf Hotel in New York City and brings the same fine-detail hospitality touches to this business as well.

Serendipity Labs currently has 10 locations around the country, with an additional eight planned for the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
