Curbed LA recently reported that plans for a new mixed-use complex in East Hollywood will move ahead as intended. The six-story structure will be located 4850 West Hollywood Blvd., next to Barnsdall Art Park.

According to official plans, the building would include 101 residential units, along with 10,000 square feet of retail space, shops, and restaurants. It would also include 176 parking spaces, though there’s no indication as to how many of those would be allocated to residents, if any.

Currently, the 4850 West Hollywood Blvd. address houses a strip mall including at least eight local businesses, such as a laundromat, barber shop, and several restaurants.

Curbed points out that this is far from the only development in the works for the area. Another 200 units will be added to a property at Hollywood Boulevard and Edgemont Street, while 21 small-lot homes are also being built at Hollywood Boulevard and Berendo Street.

The small alcove of new projects will be located less than a mile from Thai Town and Little Armenia to the West, and Los Feliz to the East. It’s also a convenient commuting location with US Route 101 less than two miles to the West, and Santa Monica Boulevard less than two miles south. A metro station is nearby at Vermont Avenue and Sunset Boulevard as well.
