DNAInfo reports Chicago's Empiral Brewery is planning to expand to the North Side neighborhood of Rogers Park, where it hopes to add more food and drink options to the neighborhood.

The brewpub will move into the former Act One Pub in the Mayne Stage theater, which formerly hosted live music and theater but is now a rental space. Actual brewing operations will set up shop in a vacant storefront next door. Eventually, both locations will be serving up beer made in Rogers Park to residents.

In the shadow of the Morse L Train stop, the Mayne Stage is on a mostly residential Rogers Park street with a few casual food options. Empirical owner Bill Hurley picked this spot because he thinks it could impact the neighborhood in a big way:

The neighborhood "is begging for something to go into that area," Hurley said. "Rogers Park does not have a brewery. It's really underserved in terms of food as well, so doing a brew pub in that area I think makes a lot of sense."
