Hospital-Anchored Mixed-Use Development Will Serve Chicago's West and Southwest Sides
A long time in the making, there’s some recent momentum behind an ambitious plan for a hospital-anchored, mixed-use development in the Southwest Side neighborhood of Little Village. The City of Chicago’s Community Development Commission recently OK’d the sale of an industrial property in the area to the project’s developer, Curbed Chicago reports.
A new facility for Saint Anthony Hospital will be part of a health and wellness campus for the area. Called the Focal Point Community Campus, the development will include fitness facilities, sports fields, community-oriented service providers, and retail tenants.
The campus will eventually encompass 22 acres and will serve residents of the city’s West and Southwest Sides, including neighborhoods:
Construction will start no later than August 31, 2017, with a target completion date of June 2022.
