The 370-acre Mercer Crossing mixed-use development, one of the largest projects in Farmers Branch, will include 660 new homes and 2,500 apartments according to the Dallas Morning News.

Farmers Branch-based developer Centurion American Development Group purchased the land north of Interstate 635 in 2015 for nearly $85 million, and the first 30 new homes are scheduled to begin construction in November.

"We are doing [all the home lots] in one phase. In the next six months, all the lots will be done," Mehrdad Moayedi, CEO of Centurion American, told the News. "There are some bigger home lots around the lake, and there are some townhome lots."

Home prices start above $300,000, and builders include Beazer Homes, Megatel Homes, Siena Homes, Oakdale Homes, and First Texas Homes.

"The builders are committed, with over $10 million in earnest money," Moayedi said.

In addition to residences, Mercer Crossing’s 93-acre commercial district is planned for office, retail, and restaurant construction. And a new hotel by Ambridge Hospitality, which will include a waterpark and restaurant overlooking the lake, is in the planning stages for Mercer West.

Centurion American is one of the largest developers of residential communities in North Texas, and it is currently putting the finishing touches on its much-publicized $230 million Statler Hotel renovation in downtown Dallas.
