Before all of the Jimmys, there was only one Johnny.

When Johnny Carson took over “The Tonight Show” in 1962, it was based out of 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. However, he and the show moved to Burbank, California in 1972. In 1984, he purchased a private, waterfront estate in Malibu for $9.5 million. After he died in 2005, fashion mogul and film producer Sidney Kimmel and his wife bought the property for around $46 million. Now, for the first time since then, it’s back on the market and asking a whopping $81.5 million.

Originally designed in 1978 by renowned architect Ed Niles, it might seem strange that the home only has two bedrooms but the master suite spans the entirety of the second floor, including his and her bathrooms, multiple wardrobes, and separate office spaces. The 7,083-square-foot residence also features a copper-and-glass sunken fireplace in the living room, modern kitchen, media room, and wine cellar. A lower-level entertaining area includes an outdoor lounge, bar, and indoor/outdoor dining room. The 30-foot glass ceiling in the arboretum keeps everything illuminated.

Right outside the main residence, you’ll find a waterfall, Koi pond, saltwater pool, guest house, gym, and championship tennis court. As the anecdote goes, Carson loved tennis so much that when he sold another home to John McEnroe, he had private tennis lessons from the pro built into the purchase price.

The home and amenities sit on four acres that also command a prime spot on the Point Dume bluffs, giving you a clear view of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding coastline.

The only thing this estate doesn’t come with is your own personal Ed McMahon to introduce you as you enter every room and laugh at all your jokes.
