According to a statement by Amy McReynolds, president of KB Home's Tucson division, the home builder has opened their third new community in the Old Pueblo within the last four months, per Builder Online. These new master-planned communities and neighborhoods join the nine that KB already has in the region.

McReynolds also told the AZ Daily Star in December that she believed, “Tucson’s housing market will remain on a steady path this year and into the future.”

These days, that path looks pretty good for builders. According to KGUN 9, last year saw the most Tucson homes sold since 2005 at the height of the housing market before the bubble burst. Given how low inventory is, especially for homes priced between $150,000 and $300,000, KB’s competitive pricing in each of their new communities falls within a sweet spot that could end up being very lucrative.

Recently celebrating their grand opening near the Casas Adobes West neighborhood, the La Cholla Station

neighborhood offers four floorplans from 1,512 to 2,467 square feet. All 45 of the two-story residences come with a two-car garage, while some plans offer up to six bedrooms and three bathrooms. Located near Saguaro Vista on the northwest side of Tucson, Hardy Preserve offers five floorplans between 1,584 and 2,732 square feet. Spanish Revival architectural style is offered on all designs, one of which is a two-story. Granite countertops, walk-in closets, and Energy Star certification are several of the homes’ features. Prices range between the low and high $200,000s.

Bringing new homesites to the successful master-planned community of Marana, KB Home at Gladden Farms offers seven floorplans between 1,584 and 2,723 square feet. Homes feature upwards of six bedrooms and three bathrooms with some plans offering an additional den at the front entry. Gladden Farms includes plenty of amenities for residents, including multiple parks, trails, ball fields, pools, and playgrounds. Prices start here in the low $200,000s.

With rising consumer demand in Tucson, and insufficient levels of inventory, KB isn’t the only builder looking to take advantage of the opportunity. Mattamy Homes recently purchased 173 acres of land for a new development in Southeast Tucson to be called Saguaro Trails while Lennar is expected to have models available for viewing at their new development Star Pass Vistas in South Tucson. They also recently bought 112 lots in the popular La Estancia master-planned community.
