A new mixed-use development at the former site of the Crackerjax Family Fun and Sports Park in north Scottsdale will include two-million-square-foot of residential and commercial space, according to Arizona’s Builders Exchange.

La Via or “The Village for Innovation and Art,” will be located at 16001 N. Scottsdale Road, within the Greater Airpark Area on the border of Scottsdale and Phoenix.

Proposed plans for the development call for one million square feet of residential space that includes rentals and condominiums, according to a supplemental request filed with the city. Other plans include a 180-room hotel, grocery store, 60,000 square feet of restaurant/retail space, and up to one million square feet of office space.

Centered around a large plaza with a focus on pedestrians, the layout includes public art-lined pathways, unique architecture and storefronts, and access to the Scottsdale Promenade to the north and the Scottsdale Quarter to the south.

Developers could end up paying close to $80 million for the property should their zoning request be approved. The deal is expected to close sometime in mid-2018.
