Work has started on BellaSera, a 385-home development by Miami-based Lennar Corp. in Royal Palm Beach at the site of a former municipal water treatment plant, per The Palm Beach Post.

The homes will have some unique technology features. In a first-ever partnership between Lennar and Amazon, all homes will feature Alexa by Amazon, a voice control system that will allow residents to play music and see who’s at the front door, among other features.

They will also be one of Lennar’s “Connected Homes,” whereby technology is a built-in house amenity. This will include Wi-Fi Certification, a first-of-its-kind design approved by the Wi-Fi Alliance, which means homes will not have any Wi-Fi dead spots.

“The target buyer here … is a person that is more in tune with technology and energy efficiency,” Lennar Palm Atlantic Division President Dan Grosswald told the Palm Beach Post. “We want to anticipate those needs and meet those needs.”

The development off Crestwood Boulevard, which Lennar considers to be a flagship community in Palm Beach County, will have three collections of both 1- and 2-story homes. The Bellissima Collection will range in size from 2,468 to 4,240 square feet, have 3 to 5 bedrooms and 3 to 5.5 bathrooms, feature 3-car garages, and will sell for $445,990 to $585,990. The Piazza Collection will range in size from 1,985 to 3,597 square feet, have 3 to 5 bedrooms and 2 to 4 bathrooms, feature 2- 3-car garages, and sell for $410,990 to $514,990. The Venti Collection will range in size from 2,060 to 2,482 square feet, have 3 to 5 bedrooms and 2.5 to 3 bathrooms, feature 2-car garages and sell for $404,990 to $437,990.

The development will be a gated community and amenities will include a clubhouse, seven lakes/ponds, a swimming pool, and tot lot. Lennar launched sales of the homes last August.

According to Royal Palm Beach officials, this is the largest single-family home development since PortoSol was built in the late 2000s. The water treatment plant was razed in 2009 and Lennar purchased the 154-acre property for $35 million in 2015.

Although this is Lennar’s only development in Royal Palm Beach, the builder has several other developments in nearby communities. Among them are Andalucia, Gulfstream Preserve, and Silverwood Estates in Lake Worth; Arden in Loxahatchee; Cambria Parc and Palm Meadows in Boynton Beach; and Kindred Cover and Woodlands at Ibis Golf & Country Club in West Palm Beach.
