Developers of the 74-story Helmut Jahn-designed tower planned for The Loop are adding a whole new element to its wellness offerings for residents. According to a recent report from Crain’s, the building called 1000M recently announced its on-site wellness offerings will include a Himalayan salt therapy room, a yoga and meditation room, and a golf simulator room.

The tower’s amenity floor is amplified with wellness features where residents can virtually golf at some of the world’s top courses or practice yoga or meditation on a wall-sized video screen from top instructors. The amenity floor will also feature an acoustically engineered music performance room.

Located on the 11th floor, the resident space will also have a sound-mixing room, an outdoor swimming pool and cabanas, cookout areas, and a garden. The 72nd floor will be home to a pub.

The sales center at 1006 S. Michigan Ave. features a scale model of the tower, which appears to twist because of the rounded corners and slightly wider frame at the top than at the bottom. Designer Jahn says the tower twists intentionally to offer maximum views for its residents.

1000M features interior designs by Kara Mann, a Chicago-based designer. The interior aesthetic will feature wood, marble, and other natural materials.

Condos in the building start at $557,000 for a one-bedroom, 926-square-foot space, to $8.5 million for the 71st floor penthouse, which has nearly 5,500 square feet of living space. The tower will have a total of 323 units.

The tower comes from developers Time Equities, Oaks Capital, and JK Equities and was originally intended to be 1,001 feet and 86 stories, according to Curbed Chicago. The building’s height was shortened because of the building guidelines specified for the Historic Michigan Avenue District.
