The developers of No. 9 Walton, the 37-story luxury condo development going up in Gold Coast, have just received the go-ahead from the City of Chicago to raise the building’s height to 491 feet, according to Curbed Chicago.

No. 9 Walton, being developed by JDL and HPA Architecture, will include 71 units. The height increase is being made to accommodate more space in the building’s penthouse and a higher top to the building. The penthouse will even include its own swimming pool according to the report.

In 2015, the building was slated to be 430 feet tall. The next year, developers received permission to build up to 456 feet, per Curbed Chicago. The latest height addition will likely be the building’s last — No. 9 Walton is expected to be ready for residents by the spring of next year.
