Real estate research tool PropertyShark recently crunched the numbers and concluded that Miami Beach—area code 33109—ranks as one of the priciest zip codes in the U.S., right behind New York City.

Miami Beach ranked as No. 4 on the Top 100 list. A “popular retirement destination for investors and affluent retirees,” the median home selling price here is $3.4 million.

PropertyShark used strictly sales data from 2016, not home asking prices, to determine the top 100 priciest zip codes. Not surprisingly, zip codes in New York and California round out the list’s top three spots. Sagaponack, the wealthy Hamptons enclave, took the No. 1 spot.
