Navy Pier is going to get its first hotel ever. The seven-story hotel will feature 222 rooms and a 30,000-square-foot rooftop bar and restaurant, according to Hotel Business. The development is expected to break ground in January.

The developer First Hospitality Group is leading the project, while KOO LLC is designing the hotel. The hotel will be a part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, according to the report.

The hotel will have floor-to-ceiling windows designed to offer an unimpeded view of Lake Michigan, according to Curbed Chicago.

The hotel is being carefully planned to fit on the pier.

“The neighborhood was very sensitive to maintaining the character of the pier and not having the hotel be too tall,” said President and CEO of First Hospitality Group Robert Habeeb, according to the report.
