Northeast of Houston, close to the banks of Lake Houston, sits The Groves. A master-planned community that prioritizes the preservation of the surrounding natural landscape, The Groves lives up to its name by fostering a community among Texas’ forested landscape. Now residents will have something else to look forward to: a new amenity center.

The Houston Business Journal recently reported that The Groves just opened its new $2.5 million amenity center called the Hearth. Equipped with picnic tables, a massive lighted lawn, lounge areas, creekside seating, and a swimming pool, the Hearth was built do be an entertainment center for residents. True to the spirit of The Groves, the new amenity center is designed to encourage outdoor activity, but during colder times of the year, visitors can also warm up around the fireplace.

Even before the new amenity center, The Groves has been fostering a sense of community with multiple events every month. Outdoor movie nights are designed for the whole family, while the wine club brings together cenophiles. Kids can look forward to visits from Santa during the winter and Easter egg hunts during the spring. There are also recreational activities for residents, including running clubs, yoga courses, and boating days.

The Groves Homes

New homebuyers looking to purchase in the area can expect prices to start at about $250,000, with prices topping out at nearly $550,000. However, the median sale price on most homes averages at about $340,000. These homes are almost all built within the traditional style, with many floor plans including four bedrooms and reaching sizes of 4,000 and even 5,000 square feet. This allows for plenty of space for residents either looking to build a family or just needing additional room.

The Groves Surrounding Area

Homeowners curious about what’s in the surrounding area have no need to fear. Lake Houston lies just minutes to the east, while multiple parks fill the surrounding country. The Atascocita Town Center lies just a short distance to the north, providing locals with plenty of areas to shop and dine. There are also gyms, performing arts centers, and other diverse destinations nearby. With so much to do, living in this part of the Houston area doesn’t keep residents from enjoying modern conveniences.
