Downtown Houston added 1,555 new apartment and condo units in 2016—and many more are on the way, according to a report cited in the Houston Business Journal. 

According to nonprofit Central Houston, 1,805 apartment units Downtown are currently under construction, with another 1,454 units proposed. When all current proposed and under-construction projects are complete, the group says Downtown Houston will have more than 7,710 apartment and condominium units.

Among the condo projects that either recently finished or are poised to open Downtown include The Marlowe, a 20-story, 98-unit luxury condominium tower where the units will range in price from $375,000 to $1.6 million. Most of the other projects planned are apartments.
