The 18-year old Mayfair condo tower in Dallas’ Turtle Creek neighborhood — a familiar site in the area — is about to go under the scaffolds and cranes to get a refreshed new look.

According to the Dallas Morning News, exterior construction and renovation on the 24-story high-rise will be an extensive two-year project.

The Mayfair, which overlooks Lee Park near the Katy Trail, is known for its luxurious interior and a long list of upscale amenities, including a doorman, valet parking, rooftop community room, resort-style pool area, and Larry North Fitness Center.

The large-scale makeover will take the tower’s attractive appeal from the inside out.

Anne Fay, the on-site general manager for Worth Ross Management Company, which operates the building, told the News that the scope of work will begin by power washing the tower from top-to-bottom.

The external skin of the building’s top floors will then be recoated to restore coloration and provide maximum protection from outdoor conditions and elements.

The cast stone on the four lower floors and adjacent Mayfair Residences will be resealed and pointed as needed to likewise protect the building’s texture from harsh outdoor conditions and to restore its original beauty.

The $1.8-to-$2 million price tag for construction is being covered by the Homeowners Association’s reserve fund.
