Highland Park Village is known as one of the most upscale shopping centers in the Dallas area — and it’s also the oldest. Several new updates will further cement its status as a hotspot for the city’s most affluent residents. One new development getting a lot of buzz is Park House, a private rooftop social club that will offer entertainment and arts events to its members.

Dallas Morning News has the details on the development, which will be located on the top of the centerpiece building at Highland Park Village, which was declared a National Historic Landmark in 2000. It will offer views of the Dallas Country Club, the Dallas skyline, and the posh Highland Park neighborhood surrounding it. The cost for membership and details about how to join have not yet been released.

As a private, members-only social club, it will be the newest place for executives and entrepreneurs to brush shoulders with well-heeled patrons of arts and entertainment. The venue will include four bar and lounge areas, two private dining rooms, a swimming pool and cabanas, and a large space for special events. There will also be an office space for executives to conduct business in a more relaxed setting.

Park House is being developed as a joint venture between former Rosewood Hotels CEO John Scott and Dallas entertainment entrepreneur Brady Wood. The cost of construction for the club and other upgrades to the building is estimated to exceed $30 million.

Highland Park Village was built in 1931 and is credited as the off-street shopping center in the U.S. The red roof design was modeled after buildings in Spain. Although it has been updated many times in the years since, updates are always done with an eye toward preservation of the local landmark.
