Sleep Train Arena in the North Natomas neighborhood of Sacramento currently sits empty. The hope is that soon it will be home to anything that brings the city jobs — lots of jobs.

Per the Sacramento Bee, the old Sacramento Kings home will be repurposed into the best fit for the community, and that hopefully means bringing a lot of jobs to the area. The 184 acres of land has a lot to offer potential tenants, including the possibility to add regional transit to the mix.

There are also talks of pitching the area to Amazon, as Sacramento prepares a proposal for the company’s second headquarter location.

A 12- to 16-field sports complex was tossed out as an idea. With that, the city could play host to soccer or lacrosse tournaments very easily.

Another possibility is that the land could be turned into a movie studio facility. The Bee reports that a private equity group met with city officials to discuss interest in opening a movie studio in Sacramento and the site came up.

Some potential tenants have already been ruled out. Proposals to turn the building or property into an auto mall, retail hub, residential space, or hotel have already been shot down.

For now, the old stadium remains empty a year after it hosted its last Kings game.
