The Macy’s Men’s Store building at 120 Stockton St. in San Francisco might be getting a new look pretty soon.

According to SocketSite, Downtown SF can say goodbye to the solid concrete exterior of the longstanding building. With Macy’s consolidating in its flagship store across the street, the proposal to change the building’s exterior features floor-to-ceiling glass windows that run the length of the building on all sides. The entire interior of the 250,000-square-foot structure is also due for a reconfiguration and upgrade.

This $59-million makeover will turn the building into a home for six individual retail spaces, two floors of office space, and a rooftop restaurant.

Once approved, Morgan Stanley will have to wait until Macy’s moves out and then it’s expected to take a few years before the renovation is complete.
