Washington, D.C. can get hot in the summer, but luckily the nation’s capital has public pools in several neighborhoods where you can beat the heat. When you're done swimming, there are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat or explore historic sites before heading home. D.C.’s public pools are open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend and each one is closed for one weekday per week for cleaning and maintenance. Please regularly check the D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation website for changes in hours and days of operation.
