Transit-Oriented Condo Development Planned for Uptown
Transit-Oriented Condo Development Planned for Uptown
A developer has proposed a new transit-oriented development at 4537 N. Clark Street in Uptown, according to Curbed Chicago. The project would transform a single-story commercial space, located between the CTA Brown and Red Line stops in the neighborhood, into a five-story condo building.
The planned TOD will have 24 three-bedroom condos as well as ground-floor retail space. The plan also includes a parking space for each unit. The Longford Group and Stoneberg & Gross Architects, the team planning the condo project, are working to change the location’s zoning now.
This development is a departure from many of Chicago’s recent TODs, which have largely been projects with apartment units and limited parking availability.
