UberEats and Instacart Delivery Services Launch in Tucson
The Arizona Daily Star has reported that two food delivery services are about to make Tucsonans’ lives that much easier.
The nationwide grocery and retail delivery service Instacart and Uber’s restaurant meal-delivery service UberEats just announced their expansion into The Old Pueblo earlier this month, joining multiple cities across the nation. The services allow customers to order groceries or restaurant meals from the companies’ websites or apps. There’s a delivery fee with both services.
David Holyoak, Instacart operations manager, told the Daily Star that deliveries can be completed within an hour or can be placed up to seven days in advance. For grocery orders over $35, Instacart’s delivery fee is $5.99, but that rate can vary for purchases under $35.
Local stores where households can use Instacart are Bashas’, Whole Foods Market, Petco, Costco, Natural Grocers, CVS, and Fry’s. Neighborhoods that qualify for the service are:
More than 80 local eateries have partnered with UberEats for home deliveries, which provides the service 24-hours a day, 365 days a year.
The service includes an upfront booking fee, which starts at $4.99 and depends on the distance traveled by the Uber driver, plus the costs of the menu items ordered.
Both companies are currently hiring in the Tucson area, and applicants must own their own vehicle to apply.
