An urban mixed-use village featuring homes, offices, and retail is being planned on a 48.6-acre site in Santa Clara near the corner of Tasman and Patrick Henry drives. The project is being led by China-based developer Kylli, according to a Mercury News report.

The development will include 3.06 million square feet of offices, 3,500 residential units, and an unspecified amount of retail space. The housing will include a range of different types, serving different income levels.

Kylli executives say this project is a significant property that could go a long way in revitalizing northern Santa Clara. The site will be located within walking and biking distance of destinations like Great America, Levi’s Stadium, and the new retail stores planned for City Place. According to Kylli project leaders, the development could enhance the appeal of Santa Clara to big companies looking to set up shop in the Silicon Valley.

Because the project was submitted to the city as an amendment to the general plan, there could still be years to go before it gets approved.
