A buyer associated with Lennar Homes recently purchased the property that includes First Church of Christ Scientist Carlsbad and has big plans to turn it into new homes. 

Located at 1630 S. Melrose Drive in Vista, CA, the 3.14-acre site was purchased for $2.5 million by Warmington Land Associates. The 7,003-square-foot building built in 2001 is likely to be demolished to make way for new residences.

Warmington had previously submitted plans for a 47-unit condo project on the site but those plans have apparently changed. The new homes are expected to be “mid-priced.” No additional details on the homes or construction is available.

Located in northwestern San Diego County, Vista is home to many large companies, light manufacturing businesses, and several business parks. With a steadily-growing population that recently surpassed 100,000, new homes are critical for the market.
