The first L train in Chicago started running in the late 1800s, but the CTA did not start operating in Chicago until 1947. Now, the CTA has taken a look back at its history with a video comparing its trains and stations in the 1950s to today, according to DNAinfo.

The “Then and Now” video shows how many updates the CTA has gone through over the decades. The video features stations including the Blue Line’s Forest Park stop, the Green Line’s former Homan stop, the Green and Pink Line’s Ashland stop, the Brown Line’s Merchandise Mart stop, and more.

The Chicago Transit Authority is celebrating 70 years of service and recently held a special celebration to mark the 125th anniversary of the ‘L’ on June 6.
