A seven-story, mixed-use development is planned for Tenleytown, Current Newspapers reported. The building will be located at 4615 Wisconsin Ave. NW, formerly the Dancing Crab.

Property owner Carlos Horcasitas hopes to seek approval for the development, which will include apartments and retail space, Current Newspapers explained. The project currently plans for around 40 apartments, a garage with 10 parking spaces, and a rooftop lounge that would be operated by a restaurant.

According to Current Newspapers, plans were discussed at last month’s Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC) 3E meeting and will be brought up again at the meeting next month.

ANC 3E chair Jon Bender explained the proposal will likely require some look into amenities and mitigation in regards to zoning relief, Current Newspapers explained. As far as design goes, Tom McDowell, who is a member of the project team, expects to be making some changes after discussions with ANC 3E and the DC Office of Planning, Current Newspapers reported.

Tenleytown has seen a bit of a housing development boom lately, Current Newspapers reported. Currently in the works is 4620 Wisconsin Ave. NW, which is close to final approval by the Zoning Commission for a 146-unit project, Current Newspapers explained. In addition, 4000 Brandywine St. NW will be converted into around 100 apartments.
