Cost of Living

The cost of living in Daly City is higher than the state and national averages, largely due to its close proximity to San Francisco. As home prices in the Silicon Valley’s major cities continue to rise, the overflow has been raising prices in those cities’ neighboring suburbs. Daly City has a median home price around $1 million, and values are consistently rising.

Transportation

Daly City is located along the Interstate 280, and it’s also just a short drive away from the US-101 highway. These highways provide access to San Francisco, which is just north of Daly City, or San Jose, located about an hour south. Daly City residents can choose from several BART lines to take them into San Francisco, including the Antioch-SFIA/Millbrae line and the Dublin/Pleasanton-Daly City line. They can take a combination of BART train and VTA bus to get some south into San Jose.
