I love it. My daughter has picked up quickly in her mandarin class. This is what sold me to the school and the ratings. The parent involvement is there. The teachers are easy to reach and responsive and you can see that they care about their students.

Great teachers and Staff! Parents are very involved and it is a safe environment. 3 stars for DI program needs to be restructured, do not recommend it to non-native mandarin speakers. State Test Driven. Otherwise, good school with great standards.

Wedgeworth elementary school offers DI program in traditional Chinese, it has a well developed K-5 DI structure and very experience staffs to ensure it's the best within public DI system. The school has very limited space due to its DI popularity but as its scores went up to 10 from 9 in 2017, many are looking forward to more classes to open in 2018. Overall we are very pleased with our decision sending our kids here. The school is quite small, parents may get a sense of a family/semi private feel, with that said, kids should be able to get enough attention from their room teachers. The school has a very strong orientation towards academic / attendance performance, the school also holds monthly award assembly to build more sense of honor. As school parents, we'd love to see the school extends up to 8th grade under Dr. Cho's leadership. One drawback though is the school is lacking many fun activities unlike other schools in the same school district : class potluck (for family to know each other), valentine candygram, trick or treat carnival, pumpkin carving contest, spirit week, good news club, movie night..etc.

Moved to the community early this year and I'm glad to have this as our assigned school. As a first-time kindergarten parent, I am so thankful that the school's front desk person Veronica has been very helpful and patient in addressing my concerns. She's always on point and even if she's got her hands full, she makes it a point to help parents out. She also seems to know everyone by name. Our child's in the Chinese dual immersion program though no one speaks Mandarin at home. The 2 teachers she has have been very supportive and understanding so far. It's good to know that our child is in good hands. The principal, Dr. Cho, is also approachable. She is always out front on drop-off and pick-up greeting students and parents.Overall, I'm glad we got into this school.
