Over the last few years, our school has definitely improved. There have been some changes in staff that have contributed to the positive changes we have seen on our campus. We have implemented our PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention & Support) System & the WEB (Where Everyone Belongs) Program to promote and encourage positive behavior on our campus. Additionally, we brought in the Rachel's Challenge program to encourage a culture of compassion, kindness, and empathy among students and staff. As a result, we have seen a decrease in the amount of fights and bullying incidents compared to years past which has led to a decrease in student suspensions. With the implementation the AVID program and instructional strategies, the READ 180 intervention program, and our Project Read grant, our growth in English Language Arts on the SBAC test for 2017 increased by 7.3% which was the highest amount of growth in Literacy among all the middle schools in Hemet Unified School District! In fact, through Project Read, we have been recognized as an "Exemplar" school site. In our English Language program this year in just our first semester, we have already reclassified almost 26% of our students out of that program which means that they are proficient enough in English that they no longer need the support of the English 3D class; this is an amazing accomplishment thus far! We have a very strong team of united teachers on this campus who are willing to do whatever it takes to help our students succeed and we are very proud of the progress we have made and will continue to make!
