I have four years of parent experience here at Cleveland, this is my neighborhood school and have become very please with my decision. The PTA is very focused on getting the teachers and students everything and anything needed to enrich the education when they discover district limits. Whether it's with donations, community support, volunteer hours or fundraising. It brings me comfort seeing so many families walk to school everyday, we are a true neighborhood school with minimal out of area students. The Deaf & Hard of Hearing program at Cleveland plays an active role as they continuously motive and educate the hearing students to interact and even learn sign language as daily opportunities occur.

I have a 3rd and 5th grader, and we love this school. We have been here 3 years since Monroe closed due to budget cuts. Principal Ryan is great, and interacts well with the children. Each of my kids teachers have been wonderful! I do wish the school district would upgrade the buildings. During heat waves the kids are sweltering with no AC. Some of the bathrooms are rusty and old fixtures. I am impressed with the faculty during heat waves they try to cool off rooms the best they can. They really care for the kids. During an emergency where it was said a thief was loose in the nearby area the faculty handled it like champs. Parents received a phone message it was a closed campus until it was safe. Then we receive a specified place to pick up kids. There was Principal Ryan standing in the rain radioing children when a parent arrived. They were calm and organized. Sincerely, Kristin Garland

Unfortunately we moved into the area and were looking forward to having a great experience with this school. My son was in the afterschool program (Kids Club) and within 2 months he was hurt due to playgroung activity, yet no one noticed until I arrived to the school and gasped at his face. When asked what happened, I was told by the adults that they didn't know, and his face wasn't like that 5 minutes ago...though he had not been outside for well over 30 minutes according to the log sheet. The next month I received a phone call from the school, asking if I had picked my son up. The worst call a parent can ever get. I explained that I had not picked him up... I was told that some of the "kids" said they saw him leave with someone else, when asked how long had he been missing I was told 15 minutes but we'll continue to look for him and call you back! ABSOLUTELY NOT! I called the office and asked what was going on...while speaking to the office, I received a call from Kids Club stating "oh we found him, he was in the office" which was 6 doors down. When I explained my disdain to the principal she just say "oh sorry to hear that". I withdrew him the next day! We won't be back!
