Nextgeneration Steam Academy

My family’s experience has been phenomenal. We transitioned from a public school, where my son was bullied and administration never followed through. My son did not want to go to school, making up ailments, etc. He incurred a negative attitude towards school in general. He was not happy. Once we moved him, he carried that negativity over and was disinterested in the beginning. But improved in every facet on a daily basis. His grades show it. He went from a 1.56 to 2.58 to 3.04 and honor roll. He is happy, has friends and truly enjoys school! Even wanting to go when he is sick. And the staff is all so friendly and helpful. Right down to the morning side who greets the children at the gate. She always has a smile and a wave. Which sets the tone for the day.

Overall, with 2 kids in this school (so far), I have been quite pleased, and more-so lately. As a new school there were some growing pains early on, and I think that has led to some of the bad reviews. The school is a strong part of the community, and is always looking for more ways to be involved with the local happenings. There is a strong tendency toward continuous improvement, and everything is viewed as a learning and growing experience, whether good or bad. There is nothing worse than an organization that is convinced it is the best, because that's when progress stops. All of the school's staff and administration is focused on improving the student's lives through projects in the classroom, and programs outside of it as well.

I personally love this school!!! I see a lot of negative comments but I have strong feelings that a nearby school is commenting so it discourages others to coming here. There is nothing negative about this school. I am so incredibly blessed that my kids come here. All of the teachers are focused on hands on projects! I have a 2 kids that are in the lower grades and they both excel in math and both have a love for researching. I honestly believe its due to the curriculum. This school focuses on safety of your child. At first I was taken off guard by parents not entering the gates at the beginning of school but now that I've been here for 2 years, I am extremely thankful its that way. I love that its difficult for anyone to come on campus. I feel that this school is extremely safe! Ive been here for 2 years and so far I noticed that each year gets better and better. Im very happy that my kids go here. They are never going to leave. Ever.

I am not pleased, don’t feel comfortable and will be looking for a different school next year.
