This is a our residential high school. I sent my daughter there in 9th grade after hearing mixed rumors about the school. She is a senior this year. I can say with confidence that she has had the best high school experience out of all my kids. Her older siblings attended various other LAUSD schools. University High school has been great for her academically and socially. She has taken some very challenging AP classes with excellent teachers. She has thrived in their leadership program. She participates in the after school musical theater program that puts on 2 great musicals a year. She was chosen for a junior year internship at a Hollywood talent agency. She is now applying to colleges with a very full resume.

As a parent, I find my child's needs are met at this school. It is diverse, the teachers (mostly) want the children to learn and there are many sports and other activities available.

I say uni is a one out of ten. The school sucks terribly

Uni is a fantastic school when it comes to academics. Most of the teachers - especially the AP teachers - are phenomenal. They are passionate in what they teach and want to make sure that their students are successful not only during high school, but in college and life beyond college as well. Uni also has a ton of clubs and sports teams, so it's very easy to get involved with the school. And when it comes to the students, most of them are really nice and welcoming, but there are a couple of groups that you should stay away from, as fights do occasionally happen, but fights happen at almost every school so this shouldn't be seen as a bad thing just for Uni.Overall I highly recommend this school, it's a great place to learn and have fun :)
