This is one of the worst schools in Montebello. There are no aids to help the students. There are 34 or more kids in each classroom.

This elementary school made a landmark in my life. I had a great professor (Mr. Ocana) in 1983. He was tough, exigent but with a clear idea of what to expect from us as kids. He used to put us to jog at least 7 laps around the big surface behind of the elementary school every day in the morning. We were all in great physical condition. He rewarded us for each success and made us feel proud of being in the US. Mr. Ocana made us aware that we could reach any dream and to overcome any type of barriers. He was extremely devoted to us and took very serious our future in society. He praised sports and multiculturalism and opened a spirit of mutual acceptance and consideration in our minds. The school had lots of kids of different ethnical origins at that time; not only Hispanics, which also increased the amazing experience. In 2001 I visit Greenwood and even if nobody knew me, I was still very kindly received by those who where there as staff. It is true that I passed through other schools in my elementary cycle (4) and now I proudly hold three law degrees. But I will always remember what I received from Greenwood. God bless Mr. Ocana and the school staff wherever they are.

My daughter just started kindergarten this week and I have to say I am a little disappointed with the school. There is no kind of staff or teacher assistance in the cafeteria area for the lil ones that are just starting school (kinder). If the parents are not with the child, the child would not know what to do.You would think there would be a designated area for just the kindergarten kids, where their would be a staff member assisting these kids.It really broke my heart, because I saw some lil ones that did not know what to do, like how to hold their tray or get their milk.I'm sure her parent was a working parent like me.Kindergartens kids should have their own designated area with a staff or teacher helping them, at least until they can do on their own. I am so disappointed.
