In San Marin High School, clothes are stolen from the PE locker rooms, and no one does anything about it. It's your loss, and no one cares. Don't leave anything in the PE locker rooms.

I went here for four years. I loved the campus and the teachers. Everyone was super supportive and always helped me out. I will miss this school and all of the people there.

San Marin has been a very good school for my kids. There is a great numbers of activities for students to choose. The teachers are courteous and attentive. The students are given all the opportunity to excel to their potential. The Principal, Mr Littlefield has brought new vigor and fun to San Marin, and I would expect that the following years will result in higher test scores and more school pride. The athletic department has experienced a resurgence to a winning format in all sports, while the music/ theater department is continuing it's long tradition of quality teaching. I am happy having my kids go to San Marin High School and would highly recommend that parents in Novato strongly consider sending their children there as well.

I am a parent of two incoming 10th graders at SMHS. My girls' concern (mine too) about this school is the two bullies that have been bullying them all through 9th grade with the help of their parents. The two bullies have their way of spreading rumors, manipulating social relationships with common acquaintances/friends and promoting social exclusions. The administrator who happens to be in charge of bullying in this school is very ineffective. He is a former cop from San Rafael, California. Former & current students I spoke with say that he is not sensitive enough and not well trained enough to handle this highly sensitive topic of bullying in schools. I thus rate this school in handling issues such as bullying in school as very poor. In addition, the school is not diverse enough when it comes to ethnic groups. In fact, I rate it simply as a white school. If you want diversity and safe environment for your teens, don't go to this school. Novato High School may be a better school when it comes to diversity.
