Washington Accelerated Elementary School

This is a GREAT school! So much potential with special funding from Federal government. The school focuses on STEM program (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). It has unique computer classes. Kids can also learn from Cal Tech and NASA engineers. The school has active and committed teachers! My kids enjoy this school!

The worst educational experience my child has had. I enrolled him mid year, and no support to help my child transition. The day I registered him, I asked the office manager to give me a tour. I had questions as to where to drop him off, pick him up, cafeteria location. She could not tour me because she was short staffed. Yet, the moment we left, she walked away from her office to chat with the girls across her office. My son has been figuring out the campus all on his own, not even knowing where the restrooms where. He was also directed to walk to his classroom by himself on his second day, of which I immediately volunteered to walk him. he had no idea where to go nor did I. He recently was told to "man up" when he was upset in his after school program. Another concern was when he was sick in the office. The assistant informed me she was going to have him WALK unsupervised to his program, A BLOCK AWAY, where he could wait till I arrived. I was SHOCKED! I refused for her to do so,and question her decision making. How do you send a child with a fever to walk a block unsupervised! It wasn't the first he was sent somewhere unsupervised. Pasadena School District will hear from me.
