10 out of 10! Mrs. Grainger is amazing.

Academically it has been better than anticipated. The honors and AP classes are strong, most with excellent teachers who truly engage students and seem to love what they do. There are also some fantastic non-honors classes and teachers. But, I can also see how it could be very easy for a kid to sail under the radar without someone pushing them to challenge themselves. What has been the most disappointing is the lack of community and openness amongst the student body and even the parent community. There is not a ton of school spirit, and I think that reflects the student leadership...they almost treat it like a joke, and it's clear that they don't really care. And if the student leaders don't care, why should anyone else? There are pockets of community to be found in certain clubs, sports or groups, and maybe all high schools are like that, but it seems by the time you get to junior or senior year that stuff should start to melt away. Kids are pretty mean on a daily basis and thoroughly uninterested in extending themselves outside of their comfort zone. I wish the administration would address it somehow. Maybe it's just how teenagers are and my hopes are too high. The facility is also in dire need of investment, and not just the sports facilities!

Great AP and honors classes, engaged teachers, some good options for electives.

PHS has lots of training opportunities ahead of them in order to make the campus a safe and welcoming place.
