I attended University Park in the mid-70's and went on to get an MBA and own businesses that employ many. I think that the school was okay. I was not that interested in learning or school so I feel like I didn't get as much as I could have. That said, I've done very well in life and can compete skill-wise with most any ivy league graduate. Looking back, I'm happy with my elementary school experience.

This school is an amazing school. My son has understand what the teacher is telling him, not like the other schools this our favorite. I can go on and on how amazing this school is.

I am rating this school because my daughter is a student here. However, my comments are aimed at what appears to be a seriously deficient "educational" system that is focused less on teaching and more on "leveling the field". My daughter is a straight A student who is verifiably advanced and in the top 95 percentile in the state of California. With few exceptions this is NOT due to the teaching but rather to the work done at home. Because she is exceptional, she is used to "assist" others rather than elevating her teaching. Its a disgrace and a huge disservice to the bright young kids who are find themselves in this same situation. NO! IT'S INFURIATING!

This is the third school in two years that my child has attended, and the worst school, by a long shot. The reasons for my distaste are many. I find my child to be bored, as the material they are covering, he covered at the beginning of first grade in his other school. Safety is another huge concern for me. Previous schools had a secure system for dismissal, in which a staff member would see first hand that each child was released only to an approved caregiver. Not the case here. At the end of the day, they merely open the gate and the kids are free to go, parent or no parent. I've witnessed parents smoking on the premesis during dismissal, and the issue was not once addressed by a staff member. I could go on for hours. All in all, I look forward to being relocated so that my children are back in a school that challenges them intellectually, and looks out for their safety.
