I graduated from MCHS a couple years ago. While yes, the curriculum is rigorous (4 years of concurrently taking college and HS classes), there is plenty of support to be found (through after school tutoring, Early College seminar classes, and simply just asking your HS teachers for help with college classes). If you plan it right (and hopefully don't fail any college classes), you can get your AA/AS degree before your high school diploma. If I'm being honest, I hated high school because I had to work so hard, but looking back, I am so glad I attended MCHS. It all pays off! I've saved two years of college (probably saving around $100,000 in tuition, textbooks, dorm, food, airfare, etc.) and best of all was ready for the rigors of college. Although I began college taking majors-level courses (instead of gen-eds), I found the classes doable.MCHS is a great program that I believe should be more well-known. While there are challenges, it certainly prepares students for life after high school.

This school doesn't have AP or IB classes. you need to study 5 years to get AA (I know for a fact!) when you can study for a AA at the same time you are in high school, taking real collage classes if you want the challenge.

I rate it 4/5 because the school isn't certainly perfect. It has it's own faults, for example the teachers are not so great. They try their hardest to make us understand the material, but it is usually hard to understand them. Some aren't even organized, but I only go to the school for the benefits for getting my AA degree and high school diploma at the same time. The school may be a challenge, of course if you like challenges. Overall, it's an alright school, but I must warn you that this school isn't a regular high school. You don't experience the "high school experience" . It's also great since the student body is quite small, which allows a greater chance for students to engage, interact, learn, and benefit academically.

DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL! SAVE YOURSELF! The reviews your seeing below? Yeah, look how many years ago they were written. I'm going to give you a true review on what Middle College REALLY is. First of all, yes I am a student. Someone who REALLY experiences this school. This school will literally set you up in a path where you do not have enough units to graduate with either your AA or your High school degree (thanks to all of the terrible NON TRANSFERABLE UNIT classes they makes you take as a naive freshman). So they will try to make you stay a fifth year. Meaning the friends you have at Richmond, Hercules or De Anza will be off to college quicker than you. Second, this school has no real opportunities outside of their concurrent enrollment program. Meaning extremely few after school clubs (about 2 or 3 that really make sense), no internships, no real opportunities at all. You are literally trapped with nothing to say on a personal statement for college. No opportunities for enrichment or anything. Please rethink your choice before going here!!!!!!
